Russia hits second major Kyiv bridge, mayor reports
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said Russia struck the city's North Bridge on Saturday, a day after attacks on the Southern Bridge. Traffic across the bridge has been halted.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced on Telegram on Saturday that Russian forces had struck the city's North Bridge, with emergency crews dispatched to the scene. He said traffic between the left and right banks of the river has been blocked as a result.
The strike follows attacks a day earlier on Kyiv's Southern Bridge, which prompted the city's defence council to convene an emergency meeting on Friday. During that meeting, Klitschko warned that escalating Russian drone and missile strikes were "tearing Kyiv apart."
The mayor described the current situation in the capital as "very dramatic," saying Russian forces were targeting critical infrastructure, logistics networks, housing and other essential facilities across the city.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has claimed the strikes are retaliation for Ukrainian attacks on Russian energy facilities, even though it was Russia that first carried out such strikes.
