Konsa and O'Reilly in doubt for England's Czech Republic clash
England defenders Ezri Konsa and Nico O'Reilly are doubtful for Tuesday's Nations League match against the Czech Republic after skipping Monday's group training. Lewis Hall and Jarrad Branthwaite are possible replacements.
England are facing fitness concerns over two defenders, Ezri Konsa and Nico O'Reilly, ahead of Tuesday night's Nations League fixture against the Czech Republic.
The pair were the only squad members to sit out Monday morning's training session, instead following individual programmes. Both had played the full 90 minutes in Saturday's 3-2 defeat to Spain.
O'Reilly's place under threat
Manchester City's O'Reilly started at left-back against Spain, a role he established for himself during the World Cup. Should he be unavailable, Lewis Hall would be in line to come in. It was an error by O'Reilly that allowed Alex Baena to level the score at 2-2 at Wembley, before the World Cup winners went on to secure the win.
Konsa a key defensive figure
Arsenal centre-back Konsa has established himself as one of manager Thomas Tuchel's most trusted players, starting seven of England's eight World Cup matches. If he is ruled out, Jarrad Branthwaite — who came on as a late substitute for Marc Guehi against Spain — could be given a start.
England face a busy international window with four matches scheduled. Following the Spain defeat, they meet the Czech Republic both at home and away, either side of an away trip to Rijeka to play Croatia.
