After several days of unbearable heat testing the endurance of Western and Central European residents, the situation is beginning to ease there. The heatwave is gradually shifting eastwards. French meteorologists expect a slight drop in temperatures as early as tomorrow. Meanwhile, in the Czech Republic and Hungary, the air could heat up to 40 degrees Celsius. Extreme heat is also forecast for the Balkan countries. In the United Kingdom, the heat has been replaced by powerful thunderstorms. Due to the bad weather, around 800 flights were delayed at London's Heathrow and Gatwick airports.
