Jelgava Begins Flushing City Water Networks, Cloudy Water and Pressure Changes Possible
The company Jelgavas ūdens is starting scheduled flushing of the city's centralised water supply networks this month. Residents should expect temporary cloudiness and pressure changes.

Scheduled flushing of Jelgava's centralised water supply networks will begin this month, according to the water utility SIA "Jelgavas ūdens". The first work is planned to start as early as this week.
The company says the aim is to maintain high drinking water quality, ensure safe and stable water supply, and reduce the build-up of sediment in the city's water mains.
What residents should know
During the work and for a short time afterwards, tap water may temporarily become cloudy. Changes in water pressure are also possible.
In some buildings, short interruptions to the water supply may occur while the flushing is under way. The company promises that Jelgava residents will be informed in good time about any such interruptions.
Jelgavas ūdens asks residents to be understanding and apologises for any inconvenience caused by the planned works.
