During the autumn school break, on 21 and 22 October, Jelgava State Gymnasium at 44 Māteru Street will host professional exchange workshops for teachers. According to the Jelgava Education Board, education specialists will be able to learn from colleagues' experience, try out digital solutions in practice and gather ideas for improving the learning process.
Focus on artificial intelligence
This year, the programme gives particular attention to the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in education. On the first day, 21 October, sessions will cover AI in providing feedback and in teaching computer science. Participants will also work hands-on with the tool NotebookLM.
Second-day programme
On 22 October, teachers will be able to choose among several workshops. The topics include:
- creating effective prompts;
- digital solutions in the learning process;
- metacognition;
- promoting reading literacy;
- virtual escape games;
- Renaissance cultural heritage;
- using AI in foreign language learning.
Registration
The number of places in the workshops is limited. Once a particular workshop reaches its maximum number of participants, it will no longer be available in the registration form. Teachers can sign up using the registration form provided by the Jelgava Education Board.
