Latest party ratings: ZZS sees biggest gain, Progressives and SV/AJ decline

A September survey by pollster SKDS, cited by Latvian public broadcaster LSM, shows shifting support among political parties days before the Saeima elections. The Union of Greens and Farmers (ZZS) recorded the largest gain, up two percentage points to 4.8%, moving it into sixth place. Support fell most sharply for the Progressives, down 2.6 points, and for the Sovereign Power/New Latvians alliance (SV/AJ), down 2.4 points compared to August.

Leaders hold steady

The most popular party remains the United List, led by Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs, backed by 14.4% of respondents, though that is down 0.8 points from August. SV/AJ ranks second with 9.4%, followed by Latvia First with 9.2%. The Progressives would get 6.2% support — their lowest figure in SKDS polling since March.

Movement in the middle

The National Alliance sits in fifth place with 5.6% support, up 1.1 points. New Unity holds seventh place with 4.3%, a slight increase. Stability! also gained slightly, reaching 2.8%, while We Change the Rules rose by nearly a full percentage point to 2.5%. Development/For! slipped to 2.4%, and Harmony, Latvia's Rising Sun, the Gobzems List and the National Conservative Party all remained below 2%.

The share of undecided voters fell in September, while 14.9% said they do not plan to vote at all. Based on its projections, SKDS estimates seven parties would clear the 5% threshold needed to enter parliament: the United List, SV/AJ, Latvia First, the Progressives, the National Alliance, New Unity and ZZS. The poll surveyed 2,035 Latvian citizens aged 18 and older between September 4 and 16.
