Iveta Vecmane Shows Safari-Themed Spring/Summer Collection at Benjamiņu Nams
Latvian fashion designer Iveta Vecmane presented her 2027 spring/summer collection, themed around safari, at Benjamiņu nams on Thursday. It was created in collaboration with a travel agency owner, Aldis Kušķis.
Fashion designer Iveta Vecmane presented her 2027 spring/summer collection at Benjamiņu nams on Thursday, 15 October. The collection's theme is safari, meaning travel and wildlife viewing in Africa.
The story behind this collection differs from her earlier ones. Aldis Kušķis, the owner of the travel agency "Stagings Travel Design", approached the designer, and the contact grew into a partnership. The two created the collection together.
Inspiration from Africa
Vecmane recently told the magazine "Kas Jauns" that the collection carries a touch of an animal element and a sense of breaking free. She noted that Africa is a very popular destination for the agency, with its exotic tribes and varied locations.
The designer admitted that the safari theme had always lingered at the edge of her thoughts, but that she likes it a great deal. Vecmane said she had always known she would use the idea one day. This time the circumstances allowed her to do it.
She added that she is a passionate traveller, yet she has not visited the exotic tribes in Africa herself. The collection was made without those trips.
