Great Britain's Keely Hodgkinson crossed the line first in her 800m semi-final heat, booking her place in the upcoming final of the event.

Finishing right behind her was the Netherlands' Femke Broeders-Bol, whose time in the same race was also enough to earn her a qualifying spot in the final.

The result of the heat meant both athletes advanced from the semi-final round, moving on to compete for medals alongside the other qualifiers in the 800m final.
