Latvian goaltender Kristers Gudlevskis made 27 saves on Friday in a German ice hockey league (DEL) game, but his team, Fischtown Pinguins of Bremerhaven, lost 3-0 (0-0, 0-0, 0-3) away to Augsburger Panther. The defeat is another setback early in the season for a club trying to climb the standings.
Decided in the third period
Neither side scored in the first two periods, and the game stayed goalless. In the third period Augsburg took the lead and went on to win 3-0. In the final minute of regulation time, Augsburg shot the puck twice into the Pinguins' empty net, after the visitors had pulled their goaltender.
Gudlevskis stopped 96.43 percent of the shots he faced, but his team's attack could not produce a goal.

After seven games, Fischtown Pinguins have nine points and sit tenth in the 14-team championship.
