Electricity prices on the Nord Pool exchange continued to decline across the Baltic states and Finland during the week ending October 4.
In Estonia's price zone, the average weekly electricity rate fell by 31% compared to the previous week, reaching 6.83 cents per kilowatt-hour. The week before, the price in Estonia had stood at 9.93 cents per kilowatt-hour.
In Latvia and Lithuania, the average exchange electricity price last week was 7.32 cents per kilowatt-hour. Finland recorded the lowest regional price, with an average rate of 4.88 cents per kilowatt-hour.
Additional costs
These exchange prices do not reflect the full amount consumers ultimately pay. On top of the exchange price, final electricity bills include value-added tax as well as various network fees and excise duties, which increase the total cost for end users.
