Estonia's exchange electricity price falls to 2.4 cents per kWh
In the week of August 3-9, the average electricity price in Estonia's Nord Pool price zone continued to decline, reaching 2.36 cents per kilowatt-hour, while Latvia and Lithuania saw notably higher prices.
The average weekly price of electricity on the Nord Pool exchange in Estonia's price zone kept falling last week. From August 3 to 9, it reached 2.36 cents per kilowatt-hour, down from 2.46 cents the week before.
Differences across the Baltic states
In Latvia and Lithuania, the average exchange electricity price over the same week was considerably higher, at around 3.92 cents per kilowatt-hour. Finland, meanwhile, recorded even lower prices than Estonia, averaging 1.31 cents per kilowatt-hour.
Additional charges apply
These exchange prices do not represent what end consumers ultimately pay. Value-added tax, along with various fees and excise duties, is added on top of the exchange price, which can significantly affect the final electricity cost for households and businesses.
