A strong heatwave has engulfed Europe, particularly affecting southern and western regions. In Italy, temperatures have reached nearly +44 degrees Celsius, while in France they have remained above +40°C for about a week. Germany is also expecting temperatures to climb to +41°C.
In Latvia, the heat will be brief. According to forecasts from the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre, cooler air masses are expected to arrive at the beginning of July, bringing rain and cooler weather. In some places, temperatures may even drop below +20°C, returning to more typical summer conditions.
While Western Europe suffers from prolonged heat, Latvia's hot spell will be short and relatively moderate.
