Daugavpils orienteers claim historic European Championship gold
Athletes from the Daugavpils orienteering club "Stiga" became the first-ever European champions in trail orienteering relay at the junior level. Brothers Maksims and Pāvels Rogožins, together with Artjoms Ivanovs, won the gold medal.

Athletes from the Daugavpils orienteering club "Stiga" achieved a historic result, winning gold in the trail orienteering relay at the European Championship. The team consisted of brothers Maksims and Pāvels Rogožins along with Artjoms Ivanovs, who competed in Poland.
The trio became the strongest junior team in the discipline and are the first-ever European champions in the trail orienteering relay event. Upon returning from Poland with the champion title, the young athletes shared their emotions from the competition: initial doubts about the outcome gradually gave way to hope for a good result, and once the results were tallied, overwhelming joy followed.
The achievement marks a significant milestone for the Daugavpils orienteering club and highlights the competitiveness of Latvia's junior athletes on the international stage.
