Como have completed the signing of defender Trevoh Chalobah from Chelsea in a transfer worth more than £30m. The 27-year-old has put pen to paper on a five-year deal with the Italian club, managed by Cesc Fabregas.

Under the terms of the agreement, Chelsea will receive an initial £25.7m, with a further £5.1m possible through add-ons, following what were described as protracted negotiations between the two clubs.

Como secured Champions League qualification after finishing fourth in Serie A last season. Chalobah leaves Chelsea after almost two decades with the club, having joined as a child.

Fabregas and Chalobah react

Fabregas, who was briefly a team-mate of Chalobah during his own playing days at Stamford Bridge, described the defender as an important signing who reflects the club's ambition, praising his leadership qualities.

Chalobah said he was thrilled to join Como's rising project and to work again with Fabregas.

Career background

The England international has earned two senior caps and was a late addition to the national team's World Cup squad. He made 151 appearances for Chelsea across all competitions, winning five trophies including the FA Cup in 2018 and the Conference League in 2025. Chalobah also spent time on loan at Ipswich, Huddersfield, Lorient and Crystal Palace during his career.
