Celtic midfielder Arne Engels is on the verge of a move to West Ham United, according to manager O'Neill. The coach revealed he believes Engels is currently undergoing a medical, and while he is disappointed to lose the player, he understands the opportunity is hard to turn down.

O'Neill mentioned that Engels received a late bid from Nottingham Forest in January but never complained about it. The manager acknowledged that it's difficult to persuade a player to stay when such a chance arises.

The club is also dealing with an injury to Canada right-back Alistair Johnston, who had attracted interest from Everton. Johnston was forced off at half-time during Sunday's 5-1 win over Kilmarnock with a leg muscle injury. O'Neill stated he will be out for a few weeks, meaning he will miss the transfer deadline. The manager called it unfortunate but not long-term.

Meanwhile, Celtic have already secured the services of Egyptian winger Haissem Hassan and Germany Under-21 midfielder Mika Baur this week. More arrivals are expected, with 18-year-old Chelsea left-back Landon Emenalo having toured the club's Lennoxtown training centre. O'Neill praised Emenalo as a talented young player, though he currently has a minor injury. If it clears up as expected, Emenalo could join as cover for Kieran Tierney.
