Polish President Nawrocki's support slips slightly, CBOS poll shows
More than half of Poles still view President Karol Nawrocki favourably, but his approval rating has dropped by five percentage points to 51%, according to CBOS. Negative assessments rose to 40%.
The latest survey by Poland's CBOS polling centre shows that President Karol Nawrocki continues to be viewed positively by more than half of Poles, although his support has eased somewhat.
Fifty-one percent of respondents expressed approval of Nawrocki, which is down five percentage points from the previous poll. At the same time, 40% of those surveyed gave the head of state a negative rating, up three percentage points.
CBOS noted that after the best popularity figures since Nawrocki took office, recorded in July, the share of positive assessments fell noticeably in August, while the share of critical opinions increased slightly.
The survey was conducted from 20 to 30 August using a mixed-mode procedure on a representative named sample of Polish residents aged 18 and over.
Polling published at the beginning of July had already shown that Nawrocki's popularity grew in June, a month marked by a dispute with Ukraine and the decision to strip Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky of the Order of the White Eagle. Another survey by IBRIS, carried out on 19–21 June, gave Nawrocki a record-high rating of 54.8%.
