On Thursday night, Sept. 24, the Atlanta Falcons routed the Green Bay Packers 35-14 at home. Running back Brian Robinson Jr. carried the ball 10 times for 50 yards and a touchdown, and also returned two kickoffs for a combined 54 yards. His seven-yard touchdown run in the third quarter capped a 10-play, 92-yard drive. It marked his second straight game with double-digit carries and at least 50 rushing yards, keeping him fantasy-relevant ahead of Atlanta's Week 4 road game against the New Orleans Saints on Monday, Oct. 5.

Ankle Concerns Resolved

Robinson had appeared on the team's injury report earlier in the week with an ankle issue, but FantasyPros correspondent Leo Sells reported Wednesday that he was cleared to play. He continues to serve as the Falcons' RB2 behind Bijan Robinson and is expected to keep that role going forward.

While Brian Robinson had his moment, the game was largely defined by his teammates. Bijan Robinson rushed 29 times for 194 yards and two touchdowns, while top receiver Drake London caught nine of 10 targets for a career-high 194 receiving yards. Quarterback Michael Penix Jr., back from injury, completed 18 of 25 passes for 256 yards with one touchdown and one interception in his season debut, also adding a two-point conversion pass. Kicker Folk made both his field-goal attempts and all three extra points.

Season Context

Entering the game, the 0-2 Falcons carried one of the NFL's worst point differentials, having been outscored 54-16, and had not run a single offensive play inside the red zone through two games — only the fourth team since 1978 to do so. Still, according to Last Word On Sports, Atlanta's defense has been strong, ranking seventh in the league in pressure rate (41.5%) and leading the NFL in interior-line pressures (23). With Penix back under center and Robinson contributing on the ground and through the air, the Falcons' outlook for the rest of the season appears to be improving.
