Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott has withdrawn from England's squad for Tuesday's match against the Czech Republic after sustaining a quadriceps injury. The 23-year-old faces a lay-off of six to eight weeks.

Scott had impressed in his full England debut on Saturday as the team thrashed Croatia 7-0 in the Nations League. He had already felt discomfort in his thigh before kick-off but still played 70 minutes in central midfield alongside Elliot Anderson before being substituted.

Arsenal defender Ezri Konsa has also pulled out of the Wembley fixture. The 28-year-old will return to his Premier League champion club for treatment on an injury.

Bournemouth face a demanding schedule, with nine matches between 10 October and 8 November. Beyond their weekend league fixtures, the club will play on Wednesday or Thursday for four consecutive weeks, taking on Sturm Graz, AC Milan and Sparta Prague in the Europa League, plus Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup fourth round.

England head coach Thomas Tuchel praised Scott's performance after the Croatia win, highlighting his composure on the ball, high-level decision-making and the mobility and work rate he brought to central midfield. Scott had earned his first senior England cap in a 2-0 away win over the Czech Republic in Prague, before making his full debut four days later.

Scott joins French forward Eli Junior Kroupi on Bournemouth's injury list. The 20-year-old has been out since suffering a foot injury during pre-season.

Bournemouth currently sit 17th in the Premier League and remain winless after five matches, with three draws and two defeats. Marco Rose's side have fared better in cup competitions, beating Lincoln in the League Cup and winning 2-1 away at Real Sociedad in their European debut this season. They next face Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday, followed by matches against Sunderland, Manchester United, Leeds and Ipswich.
