Bill Gates Testifies on Relationship with Jeffrey Epstein
Billionaire Bill Gates told a closed House Oversight Committee hearing he had no knowledge of Epstein's crimes and regretted meeting him.

On Wednesday, billionaire Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft and a prominent philanthropist, testified in a closed-door hearing before the House Oversight Committee about his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. According to BBC News, Gates stated he had no knowledge of Epstein's crimes and that Epstein attempted to use information about Gates' personal life to pressure him.
During his opening statement, Gates acknowledged he exercised poor judgment in meeting Epstein and is "one of many people who regret ever knowing him." BBC correspondent Gary O'Donoghue analyzed the relationship between Gates and Epstein, as well as lawmakers' reactions to the testimony.
The testimony came after the committee requested information about Gates' interactions with Epstein, who was convicted of sex trafficking crimes. Gates declined to elaborate on his testimony but confirmed he had no knowledge of Epstein's illegal activities.
