Just days after US President Donald Trump hailed a 60-day peace agreement with Iran, the deal appears to be on the verge of collapse. Tehran has announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, despite the agreement's provision guaranteeing safe passage for commercial vessels. Iran claims the first principle of the pact – the immediate cessation of military operations, including in Lebanon – has been breached, accusing Israel of continuing air strikes in Lebanon since the signing. Israel, meanwhile, states that it is responding to repeated attacks by Hezbollah.
