Bayern Munich delivered a dominant performance against Premier League side Aston Villa in a preparatory match, outshooting their English opponents 16 to 8 in attempts on goal.

The German club's success was built on two well-taken goals. South Korean forward Kim Min-jae put Bayern ahead in the 37th minute, while Colombian winger Luis Diaz doubled the lead in the 73rd minute. Aston Villa managed to pull one back late in the match, with Brazilian forward Joao Gomes scoring in the 83rd minute. Gomes joined the English club this summer from Wolverhampton Wanderers for a reported 40 million euros.

Tour continues with more friendlies

The win marked Bayern's second consecutive victory on their East Asia tour, having previously beaten South Korean club Jeju 2-1. The Bavarians still have two more friendlies scheduled during their preparation period, against fellow Bundesliga sides Leipzig and Heidenheim.

Both leagues are set to kick off their new seasons soon — the Premier League begins on August 21, while the Bundesliga follows a week later, on August 28.
