Barcelona becomes second football club in history to top €1 billion in revenue
Spanish club Barcelona generated €1.06 billion in revenue last season but still posted an €18 million loss. The Catalan side has become only the second football club worldwide to cross the billion-euro revenue mark.
Spanish football club Barcelona increased its revenue by €66 million last season, reaching a total of €1.06 billion. That made the Catalan club the second team in football history to surpass the billion-euro revenue threshold. Despite the impressive income figures, the club failed to close the season with a profit, spending €18 million more than it earned.
Real Madrid was the first club to break the billion-euro barrier, posting revenue of €1.04 billion after the 2023/24 season, which then grew to €1.16 billion following the 2024/25 season.
Top five in the world
Last season, the five highest-earning clubs globally were Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool. Four different countries are represented in this top five, while the first two spots both belong to Spanish clubs.
Forecast for the coming season
According to Barcelona's own projections, revenue this season could reach €1.19 billion, with the club expecting to end the campaign with a profit of around €1 million. Meanwhile, the Spanish champions continue renovation work on their Camp Nou stadium.
