Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction and Minister of Communities and Territories Development Oleksiy Kuleba said that after negotiations between Ukraine and Poland, the Polish side agreed to abandon its planned decision to suspend bus processing at the Shehyni-Medyka checkpoint for entry into Poland due to repairs during the summer period.

According to Kuleba, bus traffic through this checkpoint, one of the busiest on the Polish border, will operate without restrictions in summer. Following talks between the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Poland, facilitated by the Embassy of Ukraine in Poland, an agreement was reached: bus traffic through the Shehyni-Medyka checkpoint will not be stopped during the entire summer season, even during repair works.

This will maintain stable transport connections between Ukraine and Poland for passengers and international carriers. Kuleba thanked Polish colleagues and the Ukrainian embassy for constructive dialogue and quick resolution of the issue in the interests of citizens of both countries.

Earlier, on June 10, it was announced that bus passage from Ukraine to Poland at the Shehyni-Medyka checkpoint would be suspended until November 2027 due to repairs starting June 15.
