Australia's Ministry of Defence has announced that the government will allocate an additional $100 million to Ukraine for the purchase of critically needed military equipment. The funds will be disbursed in two $50 million installments over the next 12 months, following a previous $50 million commitment made in December 2025 under the PURL framework.

Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles emphasized that events in Ukraine have implications for the Indo-Pacific region, making it essential for Australia to remain consistent and continue supporting Ukraine until it achieves peace on its own terms. He stressed that Australia's support is steadfast and long-term.

The ministry noted that this new funding brings Australia's total support to Ukraine to more than $1.8 billion, including over $1.6 billion in military aid since the start of the full-scale conflict. Australia also continues to participate in the Coalition of the Willing and trains Ukrainian soldiers as part of Operation Kudzu.

Earlier, in December 2025, Australia and New Zealand jointly provided additional military support to Ukraine worth over $70 million.
