August skin care: hydration and comfort become key after summer sun

With many people still on holiday in August, skin has already faced intense sun, heat and swimming, making daily care about more than sun protection — hydration, soothing and all-day comfort are now essential.

August is traditionally seen as a month of full-fledged holidays. People spend time by the sea, at lakes, or simply outdoors, enjoying the last moments of summer. At the same time, this means the skin has already gone through a considerable amount of stress — prolonged exposure to sunlight, high temperatures, swimming, and frequent time spent outside. All of this affects the condition of the skin and calls for appropriate care.

In daily skincare, the focus is increasingly shifting from sun protection alone to also moisturising, soothing and maintaining comfort throughout the day. Given the impact of sun and heat over the summer, the skin may need extra hydration and gentle care to feel comfortable. Moisturising and calming products can help support the skin’s well-being and ease any feeling of tightness or irritation that can result from prolonged sun exposure.

At the same time, there is no reason to give up sun protection, as the sun can still be intense in August. Skin that has been exposed to strong radiation throughout the summer is particularly vulnerable, so protection should remain part of the daily routine. Alongside it, moisturising and soothing steps are needed to keep the skin soft, elastic and at ease all day.

August serves as a transitional period from summer to autumn. It is a good time to review one’s skincare habits and adjust them to current needs. Careful moisturising and soothing help the skin recover from the challenges of summer and provide a solid foundation for a healthy look in the autumn season.
