A United States official told the news agency AFP on Wednesday that the US has not changed its policy on sharing intelligence with Ukraine. Washington took this position after Ukraine's leadership in Kyiv criticised the US for not warning it about missiles that Russia had launched at the country.

The criticism relates to Russia's war against Ukraine. In that war, intelligence about incoming air attacks matters for warning civilians and protecting infrastructure. Whether the US continues to share such information is therefore important for Ukraine's security.

The source does not name the official. It also does not say which missiles or which attack were under discussion, or give further details of Kyiv's complaints. All that is known is that the US side denies any change in its approach and says its policy on intelligence sharing remains the same.
