Defendant in February accident at Apshupe crossroads denies lacking driver's license

The truck driver, found guilty of a serious traffic accident at the Apshupe crossroads, denies claims that he did not have a valid driver's license. The defendant disputes this fact, despite being convicted by the court.

The accident took place this February in Jaunberze parish, Dobele region. The defendant was driving a Volvo FH tractor with a semi-trailer on an icy road. He violated traffic rules, leading to a collision with a bus. The bus driver sustained severe injuries and later had a leg amputated.

The case is being heard in court, and the defendant continues to deny that he lacked a driver's license. Further details of the case have not yet been made public.
