Apple Reportedly to Unveil HomeView Smart Home Hub on Tuesday
According to Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, US tech company Apple will unveil a new smart home device called HomeView, with a display and Siri, on Tuesday. Updated Apple TV and HomePod mini models are also expected.

US technology company Apple will announce a new smart home hub called the HomeView on Tuesday, October 13, TechCrunch reports, citing Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman. If the report is accurate, it would be the company's most serious bet on the smart home market so far.
What is known about the device
Gurman describes the HomeView as a Siri-powered device with a display and an A18 chip. It would let users control their other smart home devices. It is reportedly planned in two models: one for countertops and one to be mounted on a wall.
There have been several earlier reports that Apple was working on a new smart home product. Now, according to Gurman, it has a name and a launch date.
Earlier attempts
Apple has so far had little success in the smart home field. Neither its HomeKit software framework nor its HomePod smart speaker gained much traction.
Other announcements
Gurman says Apple will also show updated versions of two other home devices on Tuesday: the Apple TV set-top box and the HomePod mini, a smaller speaker. Earlier this week he reported that the company plans to announce a partnership with LG to build a smart lock, a thermostat and a doorbell.
None of these products has been officially confirmed yet, and the information comes from the journalist's reporting.
