Flow Engineering, a three-year-old startup focused on AI tools for hardware design, announced on Wednesday that it has raised a $50 million Series B round, pushing its valuation to $750 million. The round was co-led by Antonio Gracias of Valar Equity Partners, known for backing Elon Musk's companies including SpaceX, and Gavin Baker of Atreides Management, a hedge fund that has also invested in Musk-linked ventures and AI chipmaker Cerebras.

Sequoia Capital, which led Flow's Series A round last October, also joined the new round, along with former Sequoia partner Roelof Botha, who invested individually and has taken a seat on Flow's board.

What the company does

Based in San Francisco, Flow addresses the complexity of hardware design by offering AI agents that automatically reconcile CAD drawings with product requirements, simulation outputs, and other testing data. The goal is to streamline how engineering teams keep technical documentation in sync as designs evolve.

The company lists a range of customers, including defense technology firm Anduril, electric vehicle maker Rivian, aviation company Joby Aviation, the General Motors PPU joint venture (formed by General Motors and TWG Motorsports), RV Tech (a joint venture between Rivian and Volkswagen), and space technology company Stoke Space.
