The town of Aglona has held its main Holy Mass, concluding this year's celebrations of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary — one of the most significant events for Catholic believers in Latvia.
The festivities, which lasted five days, once again drew a large number of participants, with an estimated 14,000 believers taking part. Attendees came not only from various regions of Latvia but also from abroad, as the celebrations traditionally attract visitors from other countries each year.
The Aglona festivities are traditionally regarded as one of the largest religious gatherings in the country, annually bringing together believers from Latgale and other Latvian regions.
